Straight pipe on my euro 930?
I'm considering swapping my Fabspeed muffler for a straight open pipe exhaust. Anybody have any thoughts or experiences?
I'm not sure if it will be too radical for street use I don't track the car.
For what it's worth, has anybody dealt with Brian Bodart at RarlyL8.com ?

Brian is good to deal with and has been on here and the other boards for a long time, though he still praises CIS his exhaust pieces works well. I suggest doing a search.

i just made the same conversion that you are contemplating. it is not loud...it is LOUD!!!
i will be fabricating a system with a 14" borla 3"i.d. bullet as my noise supression. i think it will still be liud but it will take the edge off. the straight tube exhaust sounds pretty shabby at idle and off idle. takes a while before it sounds good...but it does sound good up in the rev range!!!

Pete, standing on the gas must sound pretty wild but I guess I don't want a cheesey sound at idle. Brian Bodart has another version of the straight pipe which has a hollow muffler instead of the straight through pipe. That might clean up the idle a bit which I think is also what you're trying to achieve. Did you get any flames on decelleration? Are you able to hear your turbo spool? I didn't hear it in the video.

I have purchased a couple of different pieces from Brian and the construction is top notch. Brian is really great to work with. He is actually working on a really cool custom setup for me right now. He has gone out of his way to come up with a solution that will fit my exact needs.

Oh and the Zork is REALLY LOUD. I love it but know I am going to get black flagged at certain tracks so I will be running an alternative muffler set up on occasion.

930LDR,
What are you getting built? Brian suggested that if I wanted loud that he would build me a straight pipe, similiar to the zork but longer exiting on the pass side and a waste gate pipe on the drivers side but after hearing from some of the forum guys it might be a bettter idea to use his muffler style pipe but hollow. What do you think? It would be cool to have one of each so I can listen to them and compare. I wonder if he'll give me a deal on both considering I'll only be using one of them? Ya right! I have to talk to him.

Thanks for the props, appreciate it.
I can build both versions of the passenger's side outlet muffler/zork using the same jig; so yes there can be a significant savings when ordering both.
My Rennlist membership ran out 10 years ago so I shouldn't be talking shop on this forum. Shoot me an e-mail or phone call.
Thanks.

I recently like Pete added a straight Zork pipe off the turbo. There is a thread -"Cut the zork stinger and added stainless wastegate pipe- like we debated" on it.
The car sounds increadable and under load has a distinct turbo hiss. If you low RPM it you can quitely drive but under WOT it sounds like a F1 car. Not for the faint of heart. The turbo does muffle the sound some, I cannot imagine the car being black flagged, but who knows
Here is what mine started out as after we welded on a chrome tip, and what the car looked like after we cut 5" off tip and added the modified valance.. Good Luck, Mike

What kinda deal can you offer me for both pipes as well as the waste gate pipe? PM me if you have to.
Thanks
