Two possibilities why the original lever position is different: New clutch with full tension in the PP diaphram results in a different lever position. With regards to the Kennedy I installed, I imagine there may be a slight difference in how far the diaphram protrudes vs. a stock PP; thus, a different position on the lever. As long as full travel is achieved, it probably doesn't really matter.
