Default Hydraulic clutch on older 930's

Well guys, since I've got the motor out and will be sticking a Kennedy SPEC II PP in soon, I'm wondering if anyone has experience or knows of someone who has tried to retrofit a hydraulic clutch system on their 4 speed 930's. I guess I'm aprehensive of the increased clutch pedal pressure needed with the PP I will be using, and wondering if hydraulic would be a good add-on. Probably quite involved, I'm sure, but what the heck. Anyone???

Look up Brian Keith Smiith here and PM him. He swapped over to one (but mainly for manual brakes). He's made some revisons since he first installed it and it works pretty good.

Default clutch

subjective, but i have this clutch combo in my 911 with shortbellhousing 930transmission and the clutch pedal pressure is not difficult at all!

I'll post some pics. I had a shop install a tilton pedal setup, with dual master cylinders and a clutch cylinder. The clutch pedal actuates a master cylinder which applies pressure to a Wilwood slave cylinder.

Here are some links to some pics (sorry they aren't that good my camera was pretty crappy at the time)

I finally blew the wilwood slave cylinder after about 2 years of use. Rebuild kits are $11 or so, and entire cylinders are only $73.

OH - and my clutch pedal is pretty stiff, but that is because I have my slave cylinder mated to the clutch arm in a pretty short manner. If I connected to the longer end of the arm I'd get better leverage - softer pedal. But I personally like the stiff pedal, plus I don't have to push the pedal as far on track to get it to shift gears.

BTW, I have a KEP stage 2 clutch and haven't found any unusual problems yet. I did buy a new clutch cable in case mine stretched out over time.

Mark, maybe you could adjust the clutch to improve the assistance from the omega spring.

Nathan, I'll look at that adjustment once I get the new PP installed. I keep hearing varying opinions on the increased clutch effort when going to high-performance PP's, and of course I'll end up forming my own opinion. Just thought that going hydraulic would be a cool way to mitigate any issues. It may be more trouble than it's worth.
Funny, all modern cars have hydraulic clutches and I think most people are so accustomed to them that when they encounter something stiffer it seems way out of line. The stock clutch on my 930 feels as soft as a hydraulic system, so something a little stiffer really won't bother me. I'm accustomed to stiff non-hydraulic on some of the older vehicles I used to drive. I just don't want to end up with something that forces my *** to rise off the seat when depressing the clutch!!!
