Hey Cajun,
Just had my clutch replaced in mine. Didn't want to go with stock Sachs setup due to the mods on my buggy. So I went with KEP's stage II kit. Actually met Mr. Kennedy himself, very nice man. The shop is located in the Palmdale/Lancaster area of southern Cali. Roughly spent just over a grand for the complete kit, Clutch Disc, PP and bearing. Works great. I also opted to replace the flywheel with a Fidanza lightened unit, again works great. Totaly satisfied with the entire upgrade.
Good luck with your decision.

Mine is similar in that it does launch much quicker with the lightened flywheel vs the previous setup; however, I do miss the lag.
But the car is still fast has hell and I enjoy every minute behind the wheel.

kep clutch
i just installed a kep stage 2 and their organic racing disc in my 71 911 with a short bellhousing 930 trans. the engine is an all aluminum dart 434 cubic inch sbc developing almost 600 chp and 560 ft/lbs torque. this combination holds the power quite well but to date...less than 500 miles is still somewhat chattery! the pedal pressure does not seem to onerous even with the simple pull to activate mechanism with no spring assist.

I've got a KEP1 on the way as well....should be here tomorrow, I hope. That, plus a new disc and TO bearing, and input shaft bearing, and flywheel seal, and flywheel resurfacing will finish the job. Can hardly wait to stuff the motor back into the car. When it's all said and done, I'm looking at around $1100 total in parts and my free labor.
Actually, the clutch I pulled out looks pretty good, but my guess is the PP was losing some of it's holding power when at 1.0 bar and would slip under high torque demands. The disc measures 9.7mm, still well within the limits of wear.

Wow, a stage 3 and it's slipping???!!! Something aint right in there. Oil leak, perhaps, getting things wet? I would be curious to know what you find lurking when you get back into it. I don't envy you doing the engine-drop thing again.

between this and my carrera I have done enough engine drops that they are not much worse than an oil change. Can't be my driving or I would have toasted the clutch on the other car. This one just has a couple hundred more horses. i stuck with the stock flywheel instead of a lightweight one. on my other car I went to an aluminum light weight sports clutch. After that it hunted really bad at idle especially with the ac running all the time.
