Keep the Turbo and ditch the SC!

It's too nice to get rid of my friend.

Can't the car be configured to run in a PCA stock class, I suppose the G50 is a problem.

The G50 and the K27 7200 are the issue, but they are what makes the car so much fun to drive! It's a perfect car for NASA, and can run in PCA but would be mid-pack at best unless more mods were added (EFI, bigger turbo, bigger I/C to start).

Say it isn't so !

You've built a great car, Gary. Really sorry to hear that it has to leave the stable. Come on, sell the SC and stay on the boost pipe. Someone is going to get one sweet car!

Give me a number you think I should ask for the darn thing, I promise my feelings won't be hurt.. As soon as I can get more pics i'm going to post it on the RL and Pelican Classifieds, if not sold promptly then it goes to <shudder the thought> EBay.

Gary, based on my experience, I think you end up getting offers in the $25k range. No disrespect meant.

None taken, I appreciate your input Geoffrey. As you said you did, i'll part it out before I give it away... I knew when I built her it was a "purpose build" and didn't worry about it, was doing it for myself. Think the scruits would notice that 3.3 in my G car?

Gary,

what a fantastic car, I am sorry you're considering selling it. My 2 cents... when I sold my modded 1989 930 I put it on all the usual places, here on rennlist, pp, auto trader etc etc.. I by far got the most traffic from eBay but i had to run several auctions becuase the "winner" tunred out to be a dead beat. I posted my cell number for people to call with questions and I got a load of people trying to convince me to sell it to them on the cheap. Kid out of school only could afford x, dealer says you'll never get your price, blah blah blah. I also got a ton of calls from people who just wanted to talk about Porsches or tell me about theirs.

Really a sweet car hope things work out the way you want.

Gary, I'm telling you, check out the newly reclassified GT structure posted today and make that thing fit into one of the classes. Turbo or no turbo...You don't really want to go back to a 915 trans do you?

I just took a quick look but got confused by the HP/L classification. I'm only about 300 HP at 3.3L, where would that put her as she stands? As for the 915, the one I have now shifts like a dream (OEM with 65K on it) but the G50 with the Hargett is unbelievable...

You would take the weight of the car + driver + extra crap, say 2700lbs, divide it by the displacement 3.3l times the HP/L for the engine type of 210 and you get the performance index of 389 or GT1.
