I believe it's in the VIN but not sure.. Real or not if all it needs is paint and some minor work to finish it could be a fantastic deal for a 930..

I just spoke with the owner and he claims the following.

-The interior is completely removed and in a few boxes
-The engine is out of the car and the top-end is dis-assembled (high leakdown number on one cylinder and the true mileage is unknown)
-All rust issues have been dealt with and the car is ready for paint.
-It is a USA model.

Vin no. 9309800597 Manufactured 05/79, RUF No. 930L 045 Engine No. 930-64

Quite the project,

David

So is somebody stepp'n up to the plate to snag this project, finish-it, and get it back to the road?

+2

Bad body, bad engine, questionable interior... the engine alone could end up being a $15K project.

Oh I didn't mean at that price... I totally agree w/DD, GAryR, and Ted!

However, if upon inspection its all there,

- the engine checks out (we already assume it needs minimum a valve job)
- assume/verify body issues have been properly addressed.. (based on how badly rusted, and where)
- the price gets right....

It could be a nice Cafe racer for somebody...
