Default 935?

Saw this at a local car show. What is it, a 935? Or just some 911 mod. Just has twin turbos in the back, no exhaust! Sounds wicked!

I would have to say no on the 935. It looks to be a twin . Any engine pics... also , 935's have center lock wheels. I do know someone who drives a factory 934 on the street in Florida.

i would be willing to bet huge money as well as put my ferrari and porsche at risk...not a 935!!

would also look for the top fan as well as serious brake and suspension goodies. also...zero interior...a nice dash board though.

I CANNOT BELIEVE SOMEONE IS DRIVING A FACTORY 934 ON THE STREET!
OMG VZ!

I think you just raised the bar.
I think if I was able to be in his shoes I would have the biggest s^$@* eating grin on my face you could possible have while still being able to drive a car!

I won't be able to sleep for a little while now.

Default DP Kit

Its a poorly adapted DP kit for the 964 chassis which was put on the 930...

As you can see from the pics, the front bumper does not fit right as it needs the DP extended hood, and the rear tail doesn't flow with the rear as it should on the 930.

The last pic is a combo of shots showing the 964 kit on a 964 which is stunning. The other pics are of the DP35II street kit on a 930.

LA964RS, the pics are from the registry site and the 964 silver pics are from DP's site in Germany.

This is the registry site gallery:

That car belongs to Bernie, a friend of mine. He used to live here in the Mid-Atlantic.. MD area.

It is not a factory 935, although it has a much HP as one depending upon map & boost settings etc.. He's had this car for many years, has stuck with it and continually developed it... he's also a master engine bulider with drag racing roots.

Car started as 77 930 shell, all panels except roof & tub.. of course are either glass or carbon.. it now also has a full cage as he began to notice a little chassis flex when getting on it and was evidenced by a few stress crack where the rear 1/4s were bonded.

The wheels are CMW, they were probably the 1st to do a 3 piece wheel using a Fuchs center back in the early 90's. They're 16" fronts and 17" rears I believe and I know he used to run IMSA rain slicks on the rear because he was smoking all the production tires then being offered.

Engine is a 3.5 twin turbo with all the tricks done to the internals...last time I saw it it was running some type of hybrid Hi-butterfly injection that had been coverted to EFI, with an alchoal inj triggered at a given rpm.. don't know what cams, or what else he's done over the years...but the car is light & fast as hell!!
I've seen the car pull the front wheels off the ground from a 20+ mph roll!!!

JimBob.. if you see the car again and see him... tell'em that Paul up in DC says whats-up.. he'll get a kick outta that!

Just thought I'd share...

No big deal but I had three piece wheels using BBS inner and outers made out of Fuchs on my 930 in 1984.. the early 80's . They were from Beverly Hills Motoring and they cost me 3600 bucks which was huge money at the time . It hurt to pay that much but I thought they were the coolest thing since sliced bread

I don't know how they get away with the DP kits in USA with Fed illegal headlights. Here on the Left Coast they're not exactly lenient on such things.

JimBob.. that's way cool man! I haven't seen that guy in quite some time but he's always playing with that car, tring to squeeze just a wee bit more out of it!
Glad you guys got to talk.. he's very knowledgable about making thhese things go.

Was this one of those cruise-ins down that way? I heard that that area has a couple of nice events that gets all kinds of cars.

Take care..

Paul

Yeah, were about an hour north of Tampa. Plenty of cool cars, lot of classics, but new stuff too, couple Porsches, (wish there were more 930's!) Cobras, Vipers, Lambo's, etc. Paul was there this time with his Chevelle. Super nice guy, he spoke very highly of you!
