My worse, building Monster. I took a very fast 930 that was perfect to me and tried to make it better. It took a year and a half to do and when finished, it rode to rough, was to perfect to drive and in the end was really to fast for the street. Broken axels, snapped stubs, blown trannies. It was not worth the time money or effort to do it. I sold it and bought a 993TT and never looked back. It spoiled me. My 996TT neared those same comments. Sometimes more is not better.

I cringe every time I buy a cis part, like the adjustable wur with the speed switch, a set of cis gauges, electroninc boost controller. knowing that some time in the future efi looms on the horizon. havent got the fuel head mod yet but., now that the lm-1 is here that might change too.

"Upgrading" to 928 calipers and killing the stock rotors. Then buying the Big Reds and selling the 928 calipers for peanuts.

Buying a strut tower brace, then buying camber plates that weren't compatible. Had to buy another strut tower brace that worked.

Buying a short shift kit and then a Hargett shifter.

The list goes on...

So far it looks like the common trend is to mod our cars one way then dive further in and leave our old parts behind. But, at least the next owner of our parts makes out. Nothing like giving back to the community.

I only thing i can think of was the boost controller, i run the car .8 on the track so the need to turn it up is kinda worthless...

Oh and a 10k+ paint job, didn't really think that through...

Four exhaust systems
Three turbo chargers
Lots of CIS junk

Throw all that in the garbage and build a 700 HP EFI beast.

I guess I am lucky that I don't have mod regrets but sure had serious case of while you're in there'itis along with a dose of fence sitting. All for one broken head stud on number 3 cylinder.....I'll make that list on the other thread , thank you

This is more of a mind set, but more than ever, I find myself living with what I have until I can figure out how to do it myself, or figured out the exact direction, or accumulated all of the parts.

For example, my '87 has been in desperate need of Euro ride height. And I know that I can just adjust/index my T-bars and have an alignment done. BUT with 20 years on her, I know that some parts will need to be replaced. So I'm trying to figure out exactly what's needed and what to upgrade so that I only need to visit the alignment shop once! I hate going in more than once if I can help it! Mean while, I'm in need of a 4X4 sticker!

Ditch the B&B can and switch to a Borla. That will make four and the best sounding one yet. Super free flowing sounds like straight out but cleaned up, not at roarty and disorganized as truly straight out.
