Default Air Pump Belt removal?

Hey guys... I removed all the air pump stuff and now I'm a little confused how to get the belt off the lower pulley. I know I can just cut it but what if It needed to be changed, how would it been done?

You need to pull the oil sump plate, then you can pull it off.

Thanks for the reply... Would that be from under the car or in the engine bay? I guess I can just cut it, I never plan to install it again anyway.

Sorry, but the oil sump plate is nowhere near your smog belt - don't believe everything you read on the WWW.....

Cut the belt off - you'll need to loosen the rear tin and pull the scavage pump off to remove the belt without cutting it, which includes disconnecting the 2 oil lines.
Good luck!

I was obviously talking about the turbo oil sump. Lighten up a little there.

Front of the drivers side cam, on the bottom side. You will see the two oil lines going to it.

Aside from that any turbo from 83 on wouldn't have a sump plate and would have had the newer case.

You will want to remove the turbo sump and clean out the crap that normally comes out with the belt. It is also a good time to check the radius seal that so often fails under the sump and under the pulley.

Here are the two pics. The one is behind and under the car as you will see it. The oil line on top and below willneed to be removed as well as the 2 10mm nuts to the left and right. The other picture shows where the belt passes through the housing from the engine bay side.

Let me know if you need more pics.
