Default Ruf 3.4 Engine Price Check....thanks!

I have been offered a low miles Ruf 3.4 engine. Seen it running and it pulls like a MF! What's something like this worth? What's a regular non-mod good running 3.3 worth?

Thanks,

I am going to take a guess at around 12k for a good condition cis 3.4. I could be way off but I am turning this to a guessing game....

$10K USD for a stock unit that has a good leak down test and no leaks......I wouldn't go big for a modded engine.....maybe $5K more....that's it.

Dr. Kaspar, a business opportunity right here. Crate engines with the Imagine mods etc. in quick exchange for current engine---done at Imagine. Say a guaranteed 500 RW HP ---15 to 20 Large $ complete and setup---sounds like a deal to me.

You know I have thought about it at times. But people change what they want and we build each motor to spec.

My dear old departed dad used to say " give someone a choice of three and they'll make a decision. Give them freedom of choice and they'll never friggin' decide!"

I think change-over is a good idea apart from the fact the numbers won't match. But a proven set-up is a always a better buy from a reputable dealer. You guy's have the experience and most folk would go on your word.

I agree completely. I think it would ultimately enhance the value of the car. Stephen, great rep, with a standard high performance motor installed it would elimainate all possibel problems and gremlins, plus it would be an accepted standard. The turnaround(which is what kills everybody) would or could be enormously reduced.
