RH 3.6L Front Wheel Size
Hey guys today I placed an order for a set of RH 3.6L wheels and the guy told me to run 18X8.5 up front, is that right? I know the rear will be 18X10's.

I got them from GMP Performance in NC. I didn't go with the 11" ones due to my car being lowered.
One other question, what year center caps will fit these RH wheels?

bernard,
i don't know the answer to that but i do know that he has a set of the 3.6 wheels on his 3.2 carrera so he would be able to tell you what he has done for the wheel centers. joe also has the stainless steel lip on his wheels and they look fantastic! zero polishing!!!! joe has been telling me to put the 3.6 on my car for some time now...i would love to see pictures of yours so i can see how they look.
best,
pcb

Bernard,
To provide a little more information, the photo above shows the RH 3.6 wheels in 8.5x18 and 10x18. The rears fit easily without issue, but my shop had to roll the lip on the front fender wells to keep the 234/40s from rubbing when hitting bumps while cornering aggressively (my cars been lowered slightly).
For comparison, below is a photo of the same car with C2 Turbo wheels that were fitted previously. These were 7.5x17 and 9x17 with 225/45 and 255/40 Dunlop SP800s. These tire sizes more closly match what you've been recommended...
If you can negotiate the wider rubber on your new wheels, I'd really recommend it as grip seems better and the looks are much more agressive. After swapping to the 3.6 wheels, many friends and colleagues thought I traded up to a newer car!
Cheers,
Paul

Benard,
Not sure what brand of tire you're looking at, but I just looked up the specs on the Pilot sports and the 285/30 and 255/35 both are listed with the exact same rolling diameter.
I agree that the 255/30 is the safe bet... these cars weren't stamped out by robots so wheel/tire fitment seems to be a bit of an art as opposed to a science.
I realized that I don't have very many recent pictures of my car with the RH wheels... I did find this one that may show the wheels/tires a bit better.
Had expected that someone with more knowledge would jump in here with some added advice for you.
Cheers,
Paul

it may just be the picture however, it looks like the car does not sit as low in front or have much rake as in the picture w/ the prior 964 turbo wheels. is that just an illusion? if not, can the front be lowered a bit mor w/o fear of hitting the fenders?
