the anwer to my question is the ROW vs. US car. the guy that sold it couldn't give it away. well, in the end he did just that. My neighbor just liked the look of it and figured it was just a nice 911. said he had no idea how rare it was or that the nose and side ducts were any big deal. then again, now won't sell it to me at $20,000.

I like that one... I prefer the non-slant look, so converting it back would be my move, the rest of it I can live with

it's all wrong. the air dam, the rockers, the rear brake ducts, the bumper ducts, the front panels could have been made here in a back ally in pomona. the only thing it has going for it is that it is a turbo. and it's white.

According to a Barrett-Jackson auction paragraph..." Only 641 shipped to the U.S. Original sticker price of $101,000, plus $28,422 for Slant Nose package." I think when I've seen Slant Nose go up to auction on a SPEED broadcast, not that B-J is a great barometer of what cars go for... They're not for everyone, but I'm not mad at ’em.

Ahhh, not that bad of a car.

- Air damn looks like a unit that Automotion used to sell.. it was a quality FG piece.. although I don't like it either.

- Rockers don't have hole for jack point, and end caps have been painted white. Some of the AJR coversions had this style rocker with no jack point. Thought was it cleaned them up a bit

- Rear brake ducts look like any other if you remove the vanes.

- Rear bumper ducts used to be offered by Golden Coachworks.. oh well had a set on one of my cars once!

- Is it a steel conversion and how well was it done? That would be my biggest concern. Like the Can Can Red interior!

Like you said its a Turbo.. looks like good miles. And Schmidt has been around since forever!!

2 years ago at the B-J auction they sold and 83 slant nose turbo cab... they called it all original and this car was anything but original. Even the interior was butchered but the kicker was that car traded on eBay months eralier for 24k and went for 38k at B-J and the tv guys called it "well bought"

Ahhhhh yes B-J...

C'mon is that really a Collector Car Auction, reality tv show, or Ringling Bros latest tent?!

I hate what its done to the "old car hobby>" Everybody with a rust bucket parts car now thinks they own a current or future collectable!

As most of you probably know, my factory slant is for sale. (posted here) My car is the real deal with Certificate of Authenticity, very low mileage, super clean, numbers matching, bla bla bla and the 1989 IS the rarest. You have to look at the production numbers carefully. Of the 60 coupes made in 89 ONLY 28 were 930 turbos. YES, normally asperated models were built also. Here is the doc and please check out my car on this thread. I have to sell it due to medical reasons.

They are great cars and the 5-speed G-50 in 1989 is worth the find.
