You take it I am "young and foolish"? Nice. According to you, what should I be doing with my high performance Porsche? Taking pictures of it in the middle of scenic meadows? That's some real hard-core entusiast sheit there, lemme tell ya.

I guess I'm young and foolish at 39 because I can't wait to make a pass in my 930 when I get the new engine and EFI sorted out .

Why?.At the end of the day it's our cars and our money that we are using. I think we all realise that abuse will eventually lead to failure, but who cares it's great fun!

Your right...but lets define "abuse"... In my original post, I said FOR FUN. I am NOT going to dump the clutch and do burnouts... Not happening... That is what my Vette is for! I am going to take off a little harder than I would on the street, and enjoy rowing the gears and accelerating at wide open throttle without fear of law enforcement, or women in SUVs with their children...that is the point of this whole thing...being able to accelerate HARD in a controlled environment, and get an idea of what she'll do.

I already guessed that the car was going to run in the 12s if I really pushed it, and after my mods are done, who knows, maybe it will be a 11 second machine.

If you are going to make space in your garage, answer the question "why such an old car? There isn't a warranty?", and pay for the damn thing, then you might as well enjoy it.

How ignorant of you to make such a statement. But let me guess, your 997 Cab was built for being a shooter, cause thats all I can see it for being used for. So if you feel like wearing your gold chains, and slicked back hair, go ahead, I assume you are old and in need of attention.

I would advise against taking your 911 to the drag strip unless you are very careful with the clutch and transmission. Yes, these old cars are very durable, but if you drag any 911, over time, you'll ruin it.

I ran my car at the strip twice - I had never been on a dragstrip in my life. 1st run I was asleep at the light and ran a 16.5@100mph. 2nd run was 15.1@102mph or thereabouts. I launched the car really easy(there's no other way, it's a complete dog off the line) and shifted slow too - I have a bad 2nd gear synchro. All my car has is B&B Headers with a KKK-7006.

But I'm finally starting to make some money in my new business and EFI is getting closer to reality - can't wait!

Those are some pretty decent trap speeds my guess is that it will run much faster than what your e.t. indicated.

'76 WB Cab w/C2T engine - what tranny are you running?
My '78 WB SC w/930 engine and 915 runs a consistant 8.5sec @90mph in the 1/8th mile. 915 gearing is a huge advantage, and yes, I have broken one.
