Unhappy Value of parts

Guys,
Due to a pretty bad accident I may be parting out my 88 930. Drivers Ed-gust of wind-turned the car around- no where to go- hit the wall backwards. The motor was dynoed at 383 RWHP and would run down the newer Porsche turbos and Z06's in the straight aways. Do any of you have any idea what the parts might be worth? Motor, tranny, interior, hood, fendors, etc. just looking for advice and any interest.

Sadder but wiser.

Ouch, sorry to hear that Bud. You had to hit the expensive end too. Mind if I ask about the wheels and tires?

Sorry to hear of the loss!!!

Depends on condition and market demand at the time..

What kind of miles on the engine and tranny...any service history or documentation?
engine $7500- $12K
Fenders...$450-600 ea
Hood...$350-450ea
trans.. $1500ea

interior... whatever you can get..seen'em as low as $800 and as high $2K Color?

Not Gospel.. just the kinda numbers I've seen.

Pics of car showing items named?

srf506

wheels are standard Fusch with some mounting rash but not bad. My street tires are Yokohama AVS ES100's 225/50 ZR16 and 245/45 ZR16 with about 5,000 miles on them so they are in great shape. I won't know a lot about everything until the insurance people get through with it but let me know if and what you might be interested in and I will keep you informed.

Bud, where in St. Louis are you? I travel to St. Charles quite a bit, so maybe when I'm up there if the timing works out I can take a look at the Fuchs. I could use an extra set. Thanks and sorry about your loss, I actually feel like a vulture picking over the bones. But, at least you weren't injured.

Bud,

I had heard about the accident but had no idea it was you! I am very sorry to hear this. Did the motor not get hurt?

Stephen,

It broke the right chain cover but we have not determined if it did any other damage. The intercooler and topside appear to be ok. Insurance guy looking at it tomorrow and I will know more.
Thanks for your concern.

Not to be a wet blanket here but a friend of mine wrecked his car and the insurance company put out bid notices on the wreck and he was out bid and lost the car. I think it was a total so it belonged to the insurance company. I don't think they just let you have the wrecked car. Good luck with it.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Bud, glad you are ok. What was done to the motor to give it 383HP? EFI, head work, different turbo/IC?

Usually what you do is negotiate in your settlement with the insurance company the price for returning the car. Or to put it another way, if the insurance company otals the car and the settlement is $30k for example, you negotiate a settlement of say $15 - 20000 cash and the car. But you need to work it upfront with them so it doesn't go to auction.

That's what I did. They made me 2 offers. $30K cash and they keep the car, or $24K cash, and I keep the car.

Obviously I took the $24K and the car since I had just rebuilt the engine...

Thanks for the inputs guys. I am not sure if they will auction it or not. The insurance company said they will get back to me today or monday with a value if I keep it or if they take it. Like you guys, I really loved that car. In fact I have my eye on another one to maybe take this ones place if my wife will let me near it.

Gary, motor work included raising the static compression to 7.5:1 for better street drivability, C2 cams, B&B headers, K27 turbo, Electromotive single plug HPV3B programmable ignition, Kokeln intercooler, Andial fuel enrichment, and 1 bar boost spring. The dyno reading was made with the boost leaking down to about .7 bar at 6500 RPM. I had that fixed but never dynoed it after the repair so I suspect that the HP and TQ actually was a little higher. It was very streetable yet very high performance on boost and I had literally no problems with it including never having to change plugs in 20k miles.
