Thank you everyone for the fun conversation and kind comments
Lincoln, I admit you are the faster one behind the wheel, it's just an observed fact
John, no competition at all...one thing just seems to lead to another always. And yes, I am planning on relocating to Finland although it can't happen immediately due to so many things needing to be taken care of.

Hey Brad, not much is said about the car other than he did all the work himself save for a few tidbits.
Thanks Olli, even though you admit it with some cajoling.

I see Kevin has bumped his thread for the Big Yellow brakes on the 996TT Forum. I bought these brakes from him some time back and had them installed. They really stop the car pretty good.
I've had them on long enough now that even the squeaking has stopped. They were a pretty tight fit though and at first the ears on the brake pads had to be ground down a bit since they were touching the rim in some situations.
Here's a few pictures:
Just arrived
Needed to fabricate mounting blocks
Could not use the Rotors Kevin sent for my 17 inch wheel. They were very slightly too big. I believe these ones were used a generation earlier, in the 993GT2/GT3 cars. They worked fine.
Using black Pagids
In place

While I am no expert on welds they seem nice, neat and tight to me as well, i.e. does not look shoddy. The weld in the middle of the outside edge is for radial strength I was told. The aluminum grade used for the I/C is T5052. They do lots of custom fabrication work. My car has a good share of that but they build race cars from scratch and obviously there's a ton of custom fabrication work going into those cars.
