Is there a reason a high torque starter is $75 better than a remanufactured starter? I need a starter, but see no benefit in a high torque unit for the diff in price.

My car has one from way back before I bought it. Still in there and works great. I have a gut feeling that it'll out last a stock part by a long shot. That might be worth the $75 by itself. I've also had to abuse mine a couple of times and it still keeps ticking. The only thing I dont like is the sound it makes when its starting the motor. Sounds like a Honda or something.

The high torque isn't needed, but shaving weight is .
BTW, my notes show a 6 lb savings over the stock starter.

Yep, the price, the weight saving & the fact that I don't have to return my old one are the reasons for me choosing this starter. The price is not all that great for me as I will have to pay import tax etc. when it gets here to my country Also it will take a while to get here.

The Ebay unit is probably still way cheaper though.
BTW, Bosch make lightweight starters too, these days.
