Now I am not going to change the Ruf bumper from my car, because I don't want to give 965 any undue credit. When I blow by... it will be said that a twenty year old 930 just shook the **** out of another victim... LOL

Though 965’s are awesome cars, the image conjured up in non-p’car owners mind is the whale tail 930.

When non-owners ask what Porsche I just bought and I say a 930, most will
tell me “man you should of bought that car they made in the 80’s with that big wing in the back!”

930’s are 800 pound, chest thumping, alpha male gorillas and can best be described as violent!

Noooo, don't mess with the 930 body!! It is the best looking Turbo of all times! If anything, I'd rather see a 964T get some 930 bumpers. OK, I do like the Ruf bumpers though..... Just my 0.02.

Duly noted Counsellor, yours is the reason I wanted to go this route. I love the splitters and add some Techart fogs/vents and the case is closed.

Quite likely, but i bet it aint stock.

I was just having a little laugh with you guys, my first comment wasnt knocking 930's in anyway what so ever - hey it was an early silver 930 on the poster on my bedroom wall as a kid that made my want one of these things after all ;-)

All i was trying to say is 930's are awesome in their own right just as they are, (bumpers etc) and that i think that making them look like something they are not (ie 964/965) IMO actually detracts from what they are.

You guys have some awesome cars btw.

Schnele, what is the spec on yours?

Here you go Turbo 3.6, I know you were kidding so I came right back at you. I wanted to get the bumpers to solve a space issue and retain my AC.

Engine
Stock crank and oil pump, etc.
Case boat tailed
Pauter rods
3.4L 7.5:1 pistons
Cylinders and heads ported with custom head work 964 style gaskets
930 heads ported with stock valve sizes, but smaller 993 valve stem diameter on inlet valve. Valves back cut for flow improvements along with some more secret headwork
Twin plug with Bosch silver plugs W4CS
Imagine Auto valve springs and titanium retainers
GT2 Evo custom grind cams
Carrera 3.2 liter intake manifold Extruded and honed
Custom billet fuel rails
Edelbrock pressure regulator
Siemens injectors 72lb/hr
Full bay intercooler from Bell intercoolers (Don Enderlein’s design)
B&B Headers (retained)
Fabspeed Dual out exhaust
Imagine Auto’s HF2 Turbo
Tial BOV, Wastegate
MoTeC M600 with Data logging
M & W double ended coil
M & W CDI controller
Motec switch on the fly boost controller with hidden Valet
Kennedy Engineered Products Pressure Plate
Carbon Fiber shroud

Transmission

Custom G50/50 Patrick Motorsports with Guard Chromoly LSD, WEVO G50 shifter

Suspension

I have upgraded to an RSR coilover setup and Wevo Camber king setup with the strut brace tube.
Braking and Running Gear

The car presently has Big Reds all around and 17” Ruf classics (17x8.5 and 17x 10 with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups).

Safety

Full fire suppression is onboard and I am having a Chromoly roll bar built. Bi-xenon H4s, Recaro Sport Toplines in suede and leather
Miscellaneous: McIntosh head unit and amplifier sound system with ADS speakers and JL sub

Schnele,

Have you dynoed your car? Do you have power figures per chance?

Thanks,

Jim

I like the front end on Rod's car, but then I have the same one. Mine is black so I never noticed the smile. I wonder if a fiberglass part painted white could be had to replace it?

I also like the 965 as well, but won't see one in my garage any time soon unless I win the lottery.
