Default If you need a PPI, I recommend Pete at Exoticars Pittsburgh...

He really knows every subtlety of P-cars. His shop is not far from this dealer.

the roofs on 77s and earlier were not galvanized.
77 was the first year for Galvanizing.

The Speedo is not original. Sorry if I missed this in a previuos post. The speedo should be a 0 to 150 mph. The 180 mph speedo's are add ons just like the boost guage is that replaces the clock. It looks factory, made by VDO also but not from Porsche that way. I 'm sure the miles are off. With a repaint probably way off. I wouldnt let that deter me from the car but ai would be looking closer at things....

For my two cents I would say that if you look at the paint around the data plate you can see peeling and layering. This is not the effort of a meticulous painter! It means that he did not prepare this area well and then he did not mask the plate very well. Second, with the A/C comp missing the lines and condensors and evaporator will be full of crap and dust etc. This means a major flushing of the entire system unless hose plugs were installed after the comp was removed. Also, the pre galvanized cars had a few typical areas of rust that shoulod be examined. The other thing is the seat bolster. It is awfully worn for just 45,000 miles.

It looks great in that colour. I did notice that one of the doors looks like it has dropped where it meets the latch plate. When you look closer you can see that it is not the door dropped but the rear quarter is high. It is probably poorly repaired accident damage from a rear end shunt.

Would need to look closely at that area.

vents on the tail were painted to match the car too. i suspect an entire repaint. nothing wrong with that, but if the seller doesnt know it, what else doesnt he know. or should i say, what else does he know that he pretends he doesnt know.
