Question for original DP owners

Question for original DP owners
I was contacted about trying to authenticate an '86 Cab. converted by DP Motorsport vs. one of the many shops doing conversions. I indicated that if DP did the conversion there would have been a built sheet supplied with the car. His question is "Would the build sheet have been hidden as it sometimes is on US cars, and if so where?"
I know there are a few original DP owners on this board. Hopefully someone will chime in and help out.
I started the DP site in an effort collect info on these cars. Either posted on my site or a link to anyone elses site.
Thanks,
Harold

What build sheet? Are you saying that DP actually hid a list on the car somewhere with all the options they installed? I have a U.S. spec. Original DP 935 Turbo cab, and know of no such build sheet. I am the third owner and received with the car the original window sticker from the dealership that sold the stock Porsche, as well as the Invoice from the Importer who brought the car over to the U.S. from Germany and sold it to its first owner. It included the base price of the Porsche, then lists all of the modifications that DP did. Adds them all up for the total price after DP's conversion.
There should be a sticker on the body side of the inside of the door, on either the passenger side or driver side. My car has it on the passenger side, I know of another DP that has it on the driver side. The sticker will say 'this vehicle was altered by DP Motorsport' and goes on to show their address and date they built the car, and mine says that it conforms to the U.S. specs since it is a U.S. vehicle. If the DP doesn't have that sticker, my assumption would be that it wasn't built by DP, although could still be original DP parts sold by them. That is assuming it isn't a complete clone with aftermarket copied body parts.
Is the car you are inquiring about for sale?

I have an '82, and have no original build sheet with my car.
What I do have, though, is a centre console that was built using DP Motorsport cardboard boxes as a core, as I found out when I was re-wiring my stereo and crawling around underneath the dash. Good enough for me.
From what I've seen with other DP's, it seems that they were pretty lax about any kind of official documentation.
They were quite helpful when I contacted them directly for information on my car (even though the son now owns the company).

Yeah, as much as I'd love the power, it's too much for any real off-roading, and I like my fly fishing too much. (Right on the build sheet it says "not intended for off-road use").
The HEMI does me just fine.

The extent of my off-roading is the using the shoulder in bumper to bumper traffic. And if I really want to go off road, I'd take my '86 Jeep CJ-7 with a swapped out 360 cubic inch Grand Wagoneer V-8 with 31" tires. That Jeep has so much torque it feels like the chassis is bending when you are at WOP. But there isn't much off-roading to do within the city limits of Chicago.
