Default How Loud?

I have a track day booked, my first (it'll save me getting caught speeding ), my worry is that they have a 100db limit and i was wondering how loud my car is. It's got the standard muffler but has a stright pipe off the wastgate, i'm running 1bar, do you think it will be too loud? I'd hate to get stopped and have to sit the day out, i know you guys have similar or even louder set ups and was wondering if you could give me some estimates, cheers

Nokia, very durable phone, lots of rubber, also has thermometer and a compass including spirit level to setup the compass. Oh, video and camera as well, no MP3 that I know of , never tried, has radio too.

Your fine with your set up. My race car with headers & a free flow muffler hits 92 db. A couple of tricks the racers due is lift or partial throttle past the sound meter. Or they will attach a 90d pipe exiting away and up from the sound meter.

Got the same phone Nathan, it registers 90db when i cough so i think it might be little inacurate? As far as testing the noise myself how would i go about doing that? I guess i'd need a friend stood by the side if the road while i went past on boost, is this the best way?

Strudel, i guess if your car is under 100db mine should be fine, do you have a dump pipe off the wastegate too?

The 92 db is for my 3.4 n.a. race motor, 46 Weber carbs, headers at Sears (Infineon Raceway). I have a dump pipe off the wastegate on my 3.5 turbo motor w/DP muffler but haven't checked the db. Not as loud as the race car.
You need to find out where the race track places the meter. I think Sears is 50 ft off the track on the track, while Laguna it's on one of the hills. So you get some idea of how far to stand away when you do the test.
A db in a phone, how cool is that. What model phone is it?

It's a Nokia 5140, i'm a joiner so the thing bounces on the floor 10 times a day and gets covered in dust, very robust! The features are more gimic though i think, although i never use them so couldn't really comment. Link to fetures here

I use the alarm and the torch feature all the time, useful

Yeah, that is the phone, the torch comes in very handy.

You measure sound at a pre determined distance. eg @ 1 Meter.
