Thumbs up An alternative to BS I/C's....

I could not find the post, but i told a few people that I would post some pics when my new I/C arrived. I called Gerhardt at Bell Intercoolers, and had a little chat with him. I have been talking alot to DonE, and liked the way his I/C was built. gerhardt advised that he still had the blueprints for the I/C that he made DonE. Shipped to my door, it was several hundred dollars cheaper than the BS full bay I/C. Here are a few pics.... and one against the old Kokeln that i still have. The Bell I/C is the same core width and thickness but is about 3/4" shy of being double the length..

Obviously, this I/C is suited for the person who is using the 3.2 intake conversion, instead of the 3.3 intake. I feel that for the money, the kokeln is still the best out there for the 3.3 intake.

What would be nice is if they added brackets for the 3.2 intake (if there was a standard way to mount it).

Post some pics when installed.

Yasin, the core dimensions are 27" x 10" x 4", the end tanks make it bigger, but thats the core....

Schnele, This night be a question better answered by DonE. I have the same GT-2 tail that DonE does, and know it will fit that tail fine, but I have no idea about a stock tail. I have never had the stock tail on my car, so I am not familiar with those dimensions, sorry. I also don't even have my motor together yet.....hopefully in the next month....

Hello Turborat,
what is the price for the Bell cooler?
And how this part performs?

Is the old Kokeln for sale?

greetings
Falk

DonE,
Can you provide photos of how this sits as installed on your car? I am particularly interested in how it meets the throttle body of the 3.2 intake.

If you look at one of my pictures above, and imagine the I/C in the car. The right front corner of the I/C (closest to the firewall) has a 90 deg 3" aluminum pipe welded to the back of the I/C. Now you take another 90 deg piece of aluminum tubing and connect it to the throttle body. Now all you have to do is get a piece of silicone hose and connect the 2 pieces of straight pipe that are at the ends of the 2 90 degree pieces...very simple. A picture here would be much easier to show....
