I have a RUf intercooler on my 3.3 now. would a blownsix c2t intercooler be worth the investment compared to the RUF?

Mine is being installed today. The mechanic was surprised to find that it doesn't sit level in the engine compartment, rather lower at the t-body and higher near the fan. Is this to be expected? It's being installed in a '80 930.

this should be normal. even the oem c2t ICs is lower at the TB and higher in the rear. I think this is more advantagous for directing airflow from the wing. There should be some pics of it at the pelican site.

Is your engine back together? I just got my heads back today and have a marathon engine rebuild scheduled with Brian and a another friend to get it finished, installed and running by the end of the weekend. Then it's break in, dyno and VIR!

Yep, or about 90% back together. I took a much easier route - no upgrades and I had someone else do it for me.

You're killing me...

This is why I brought up the Engine Builder Supply thread. It's taken since Sept 1 to get my heads back today. I thought I would be much further along by now.

Any way. Hope to see you there.

I should elaborate. The rebuild is being done by Charlie Murphy at Intersport Performance in McLean, Virginia. The heads were done by a shop in Maryland (I don't know the name - I think Burtonsville Performance).

I pick a good time to rebuild the engine. Originally I thought I'd burnt an exhaust valve. Once the heads were off we discovered smilies on the pistons from a missed shift, thus bent valves. Then we discovered a cracked head (disaster waiting to happen), 3 cylinders at least 2/1000ths out of round and completely shot injectors.

She ought to run a tad better ....

I don't think I need more than 400hp while learning to drive the car. $5000+ is a lot of track days ... or ... 4 sets of Hoosiers.

I'm using a G2Extreme now. It's a really nice unit with a dashboard. There's a link on their homepage to a video I made at Watkins Glen this year. [ yes, I muffed the line thru the Toe ]

There a a lot of places at WG you can go much faster. Get in earlier after the busstop, tighter in T1, and dive in earlier in the off camber & fast left. Come to the HCR/HV upper run groups event this spring and I'll have you doing sub 2:10s easy.

I just got a G2X so should have lots of data next race season.

Thanks Colin. Just might take you up on that! At the very least I'll attend the Potomac event in July. Is the "off camber & fast left" T3 or T9?

Oh, back to the thread. Here's my B6 I/C [mostly] installed.
