Default Oil capacity....

With out going to a large front mounted oil tank, how can the oil capacity be increased? I read where someone takes a stock oil tank, cuts it in half, adds a few inches to it and welds it back up. No tsure how much it adds and if I can do it myself? Any other ways to add more oil capacity?

Use the old NASCAR trick they used to pull with fuel, snake about 50 extra feet of oil line through the car;-) We've got enough weight in the tail now don't we? Why not fab up a little can like the AC Receiver Dryers we run in the left fender well and mount it similarly? I believe there's enough room, its a natural place to splice into the lines and it would probably assist with cooling too.

Smart Racing products does an oil tank modification. I believe this is more to help with the issue of oil starvation under high cornering loads with slicks. Part of the modification is cutting the tank apart.

It will storage 3 to 4 more quarts of oil, and it will react to sudden drops in oil pressure + it will pre lube the engine as soon you turn on the ign. sw., good for turbos., cheers, Sonny.
