Default Wheel Sizing help please!

Hey guys,

I am member but have let my membership lapse (need to mail my new check!)
I have a fairly sweet 951 but really want a 911 also! I have been looking for a nice car at a great price.

Anyway - I appreciate any help on this -

I am consdiering buying this car: '78 SC Targa, 3.0 5spd, 70K orig miles, Targa top is perfect, it is a good driver (might need some pads and fluid), all steel conversion to slant nose wide body (pretty nicely done - full color change, well prepped and looks good up close).

Best reason I am considering it is the insanely low price.

My question regards wheels (obviuosly these hideous 80's Borbet wheels are WAY too narrow and have got to go, immediately!)

What wheels and/or offset do I need properly fill the wheel wells and make the car look correct? Car has stock SC rear suspension and is running "some size" (?) spacers now but obviously looks aweful. Can I buy the 16" Fuchs that are intended for a 930? If I do, will I still need spacers?

Thanks!!!

You can look here: https://rennlist.com/forums/911-turbo-930-forum/275620-widest-possible-rear-rim-tire-combo.html

But that would be with a stock 930 body. Yours would be a different story because of the body work and spacers.

If you buy the car, you'll have to take some measurements such as from the wheel hub to the fender and what's on the inside (i.e. shock, etc.)

I don't know what's on there now, but it need a wider tire. The rear has way too much fender hanging out there.

Interesting car....so was there a problem with the car that made you turn the other direction?
