You could do that. The rates are going to be so close I am not sure it matters. I would also do 4 and 3 while I was at it. 2 and 5 are the safest.

I installed the new injector I bought from you in the #6 hole and the others were so close that I just installed wherever they went ;-)

Man...the injector line sure are a bundle of (easily loosening & floppy) metallic snakes!
Goes to show that a final tightening of not only both the injectors in the blocks and line-to-injectors is needed, but also where the lines go into the head. Double check!

Nope, same pics.

Now I hear that the previous builder had run the engine at 1.0 bar on CIS for several hours.
WTF?????

Craig:

I now understand that what you say Steve is the truth - via conversations with the PO. I cannot believe some of the stuff I hear from respectable sources.....unbelievable.

Call me.

We're treading deep water without all the facts and this kind of conjecture & speculation from parties without any first-hand knowlege borders character assassination.

Please call (collect, if necessary).

No need to call, no treading deep water. I guess I can no longrer trust comments from previously trusted parties?

I will say that the source had me absolutely convinced that from a credibility and access standpoint that the information was 110% correct.....it was not. I posed the below question based upon what I was directly told:

"Now I hear that the previous builder had run the engine at 1.0 bar on CIS for several hours.
WTF?????"

- what I was told, totally convinced (and furiously pissed) feeling justified from that standpoint alone.

Craig:

I think you should talk to me so you hear the facts right from the source and not hearsay and innuendo,..... Given whats been printed in this whole thread, I'd appreciate the courtesy.

The only folks present during those dyno runs was Jeff G, Scott P, Dr. Mike Peters who took pictures, and myself.

Call me,........collect.

Steve,

"I'd appreciate the courtesy"??!!????!!!!

All of what I printed in this thread would not have even been mentioned had either you or Jeff been courteous enough to respond to the emails regarding my motor failure.

Also, just to refresh your memory, look at the dyno sheet for my motor and see what boost you had to run inorder to produce the 427fwhp. 1.1 bar on CIS??

All this talk about 500 some Hp at .5 bar versus 500 at 1.0 bar is really getting quite ridiculous. You are talking like you're inflating some bicycle tire and thinking if you keep it below 1.0 bar, your "tire" is less likely to blowout. Face it, if you're producing 500HP at 4000RPM at 1 bar or .8 bar, you're stressing the engine the same amount. You're producing the same amount of energy with heat and mechanical stresses as a by-product. DonE mentioned it earlier. The stock compression engines will take 1.1 bar easily, if the engine is twin-plugged, fuel ratio is adjusted properly and timing is correctly set. I ran 1.1 bar on my 3.3l twin plugged engine for years. No, it's not a track car. I recently split the case on an 80K mile engine and found the rod/main journals in beautiful shape. The Nika-Sil bores still showing crosshatch.
For Pete's sake stop flaming Steve. If you not willing ot listen to both sides of the discussion, you don't belong. He's given more to this board than all of us combined!
