Default Air Intake Systems

I looking to replace my stock air intake system with something that will make accessing my "newly" adjustable WUR easier. Really is a PIA to have to remove the airbox which requires removing the IC to get to the WUR.

Fully understand that there is no performance to be gained here... just want to make sure that I don't lose any. I have seen some of the smaller round filters that sit behind the IC but I can't imagine that you don't suffer by having the intake hidden behind there.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

the intake from evolution motorsports is nice I think Stephen sells them, I don't know about any performance increase but it is a clean install.

Folks tend to over think the dynamics involved; you don't lose any performance with these little filters.

Does anyone have a close pic of the evo motorsports unit installed... curious to see if it would allow me to access the WUR without taking apart half the engine bay.

Yes it will. I have one on my car and can access the WUR without an issue.

What does everyone do with the lines going to the air filter housing when it's removed for a smaller air filter? Just cap of or add breathers?

A930Rocket, yep, grab a couple 1" K&N oil breathers for those lines.

As far as the EVO airbox, I had it, didnt like it simply because it is bulkier than the OEM airbox and barely allows any room for doing CO adjustments. It's also way overpriced in my personal opinion. There's no loss of performance for the DIY kits, like Rarly8 stated. These DIY setups cost less than $15bux, give you same or better performance than the EVO airbox, plus you get a really cool "wooooooooosh"-ing sound at WOT

The lines have a place in the new box to be fitted. No need to cap anything off.
