Default A nice 3.3 mild build!

A Thought I would share this build with you guys....This is a 91 C2T that came in and we based lined it at 332RWHP. It had a 1 bar, headers. exhaust and intake and stock turbo. That is it.

We got it and basically did a rebuild to freshen it up, headstuds, rod bolts and some special head work and some custom cams that were built to work with the head work and how they were build. We also modified the fuel head because we knew we were going to be out of fuel. The end result was this 417RWHP!! Not to shabby we thought. Carries a 12.1 across WOT and boost. The owner should be very pleased.

We also did wheels, PSS9s, L/W Flywheel and upgraded pressure plate and disc. Turned out really nice. Just thought I would share.

Can you say how much $$ and did you split the case?

I don't know what the ticket was to the penny, but for the work we did not including prior parts purchased parts it is between 11-14K.

In our builds we always like to split the case. We did that here, but we also were so close because of the replacement of the rod bolts and rod work that it makes little sense to not split the case. We also paint, powdercoat everything, replace every nut and bolt so the motor is as new on its return.

Stunning looking car!!! And VERY impressive numbers...the headwork and the cams must be excellent...I am sure you must have gone with a high lift cam to keep those valve open longer.

Great Stuff!

Stephen, are my eyes deceiving me or is that a straight pipe out of the turbo? What kind of sound is it putting out?

Thanks Simon and Yasin.

Stratman,

That is a bypass pipe. The exhaust will all the bypasses is loud from the outside of the car but not as bad as one would think inside. I was actually shocked. This car runs a muffler, the last C2T we did not.

Your very welcome.

This engine must be great to drive. I'm impressed by these sorts of numbers from a "stock" engine, more than the "super" engines. Your going to get a lot of calls for the same, I bet.

Hi PhD,
that really is impressive stuff, a phenomenal looking car. I am just getting to know my 1986 930, it's got ca. 115km on the clock (I live in Germany) and I wondered when I should perhaps look at some form of engine overhaul? Would you be able to give me a list of key 'must-dos' or even an idea of what $$ might be (at least your side of the pond)? Thanks for any help. Rich
