It's crude, but I use a new can of brake cleaner. Stick the red tube in the injector tightly and spray. If they are clean it will spray a nice mist. As I siad this, is a crude way of checking them.

BTW. I soak mine in the Chevron fuel injector cleaner for 2-3 days before I use the brake cleaner.

As long as they are out, I would. Use the same Chevon injector cleaner your pour in your tank. I just drop mine in the bottle, cap it off and let em soak for 2-3 days. Then clean them all with brake cleaner, blowing them out as above.

Acually new injectors are closer to $85 now! Massive price increase from bosch in last year. Just went through it. Called many places. ...about the only place left out there (at least that I could find) that actually does 'flow checks' the injectors is Marren injectors. when you buy injectors from them they buy more than they need, flow check each, and send you set that are 'matched' as close as spring injectors will match. they just return the ones that don't to bosch. they'll also spray and flow check your old ones for ~$25 each. if they're bad, they don't charge you for the $25 if you buy new one to replace it.

I have used RCEngineering to clean, rebuild, blueprint-balance, and flow injectors for years on all my cars with good results too.

So what are the options when your injectors have been professionally cleaned and only four of them flow properly? The other two didn't pass the flow test. Can I purchase two injectors?

At RC, and I would guess the others, they can rebuild any failed ones and replace all the parts or sell you new ones.

When they blueprint, they match them to the one that has the highest flow after they clean them..

They also give a printed detailed before and after report that shows all the technical flow/spray info...

On race cars, I have them checked, cleaned and made like new on every rebuild.

I am definitely not an expert, but I would say that it would hurt to have them done, it depends on cost.

I have 12 injectors (2 per cyl) and my cost for clean, blueprint, rebuild on some costly injectors is about $330.

So it merely depends on cost of your new ones. In my case I actually had no idea what the actual flow rates of the injectors I had was, so the report gave me all the information..
