Default Dynoed my 94 3.6T....... going to EFI now!

I got 387 WHP with my stock CIS @.9 bar
Car has GHL headers ,no cat, and k27 highflow .
I want to convert to EFI , I'm thinking about controlling fuel only and leaving the EZ69 intact. Car is 80% track 20% street .Anybody care t o share their experince on a 965, and what is the best way to go about it. I would appreciate your insights.
Thanks
Elliot

I would simply gut the whole system. The EZ leaves no room for control on timing and to be honest the advance numbers are unknown. You could simply throw an EFI kit on there and do everything you want and be done. What are your HP goals?

From what I learned in the EFI101 course, the ignition is where the biggest improvement will come from so I would include it in any EFI conversion.

Now that I'm 19 months into my engine upgrade and EFI conversion, I recommend sending it out to a shop that specializes in Porsche EFI conversions. Unless you're like me and just enjoy torturing yourself. I'd also stay with a top end ECU like Motec or Autronic, BTJMHO.

Wise words David!! It seems like it would be easy to most and it is not. There are a lot of things involved and if something goes wrong what would you do. For example, a scope is a very important tool to use when converting to EFI. If a hall sensor goes down you have no way of knowing. A signal breaks up, why and what is the voltage of that signal? Like most we have all learned the hard way. Yes, me too. I do not do things like I did 8-10 years ago.

Stephen,
I'm more interested in DE events and don't reallly want or need BIG HP.

I'd much rather Good track response, reliability with modest boodst, and the ability to pass emmisions every 2 years. Some extra HP would be nice. I thought by staying with the EZ it would be more simple, safe and reliable.

Is my 387 whp what you would expect from my current CIS? Also it would start to go lean above 6300rpm and that scares me.

I'll call you
Thanks

Dave thanks for the advice .

What kind of dyno did you get those numbers on? Thats the highest WHP I have ever seen with limited modifications @ .9 BAR. Are you lean? The 965 dyno sheets I have seen show peak closer to 5500-5800 RPM's, my car always peaked right around 5500.

Bogey,
The dyno is a Dynojet 4wd we did about 10 pulls while adjusting mixture to see if any improvements.
This is a 3.6 T with headers, Tial wG, no cat ,Hyflow 7200, and an Eboost EBC.
It did go lean at about 6200 and thatis the main reason I want to go to EFI.

I'll bet. I've got 500 miles covered, and it's breaking in nicely. Clutch is working better too.

Do I need to change the oil and adjust the valves or just change the oil?
