Kudos Mr. Kaspar
Stephen builds a totally badass 930. Just incredible the power he gets. Muchos Gracias.
Starts well, idles well, does great at part throttle, etc. Clutch is a little grabby, but I'll sacrifice something for 550plus horsepower.
Thanks again.

Do you mind breaking down what he did for you, or do you have a link? I'm in Jacksonville- is he in Vero?
btw- did you keep the 4 speed and factory ratios?

485 at the wheels on 1.1 bar. Stephen is in Kansas, so you have to ship... However, it's really worth it to use someone very experienced with 930s (just don't expect your car back TOO soon... )

It's phenomenal! The acceleration is absolutely, mind-warpingly unreal. Plant it in second gear at 40, it squats and you are doing 80 in just a couple of seconds. Keep it down in third and 110 is just a couple of seconds more. I'd bet this is a low 11 second quarter car at 130 or more if you drove it like you were mad.
All that and it starts, idles and cruises along at 2500RPM like it's an N/A 911. Very smooth. Just incredible.
I'll shoot some video at some point so you can see it. Just scary fast.

It would be easier for me to tell you what he didn't do. Basically top to bottom rebuild, headwork, full autronic EFI, 3.2L intake, 3.4L p&Cs, custom cams, twin plug, etc.

Do you think running the car at 1.1 bar will shorten the engine life? My car has a switch for .8 bar and 1 bar, it makes 545ft/lbs at the wheels. I always ask my mechanic about setting it at 1.1 bar and he says absolutely not.
What's your thought PorschePHD

I think if you build an engine with that in mind that there is no reason why you can not run that amount of boost. CIS cars..NO WAY. But EFI opens up a whole new range of possibilities. When constructed right the motor will live there. The caveat is if the engine is not mapped in this area then you need to be cautious about turning up the boost.
The motor runs very conservative AFRs and timing compared to most, especially up top where heat really becomes an issue. We have taken all the precautions to run in this range and a tad more for street only.
Derick also runs a track file which is 10lbs of boost.
Jimculp, he is running a custom modified intercooler made in house.
