Default looking for exhaust system for my 86 turbo

I am looking for an exhaust system for my 86 turbo. If anyone have a set laying in their garage, I would love to take it off your hand. Please help, or any recommendation.

BIG Thanks,

Joseph

Lot's of info on this subject...search the archives. I don't personally have an exhaust to sell. In short, most are using either GHL or B&B headers and either a GHL or B&B exhaust muffler. Fabspeed and Mili-Miglia (spelling?) are also used as mufflers. Personally I think Fabspeed is the way to go. Rennlister, Sameer just installed Fabspeed on his Ruf. There was/is a recent thread about Schnell headers, too.

Hope This Helps,
Jeff

Joseph,
I have used B&B and Millemiglia before and honestly speaking the Fabspeed is best hands down. The B&B and Millemiglia measured only 2.75 inch when opened up while the Fabspeed is a true 3 inch. The Fabspeed muffler is also lighter and the flanges which bolt to the turbo are even thicker a little more.

I have a used Monty dual Tip. You're around the corner from San Diego, so you can pick it up for cheap. I mean cheap. I'll snap some pics to show you. Email me for more info.

Some pics here

Default Febspeed

I must ring in. I just finished installing the Febspeed duals on my 88 cab today. The lag had lessened by 300-400rpm's, the throttle responce seems better off of the line and the son of a gun pulls harder and longer. I have a one bar spring that I might not install now. It sounds fantastic. Sameer talked me into doing the job myself and I did it with the help of a buddy with a body shop (for the lift and the air saw). It took three hours, well, I had to tap out an exhaust stud I snapped off. . . .

With the top down, the tone is softer and no resanation. Top up, it will be somewhat loud at higher rpm while in a conversation, but who cares.

I drove the car for about 45 minutes and I noticed the exhaust tip has discolored a couple of tints. I will call Fabspeed to find out what I can apply to help bring back the polished look.

Ha, you got it on. Good job. You pull the bumper??

Hands down we sell more Fabspeed mufflers than any other. The mil of the muffler is almost two times the thickness some of the other brands out there. I have never seen a single issue with cracks, the mufflers make real power and have done so consistently. They are a very nice piece and as you can see most that have bought them have been very please with the results. Grouped with a set of B&B headers you will see in conjunction with the muffler 800-1000RPM drop in spool, 45 lb reduction in weight and about 35HP gain.

When it comes to the install, we are a phone call away. I can walk anyone through the install. I have done it a million times.

Any one heard if Fabspeed is thinking of making a set of 930 headers with heat exchangers?

given the quality and popularity of their mufflers over ghl and b&b i would think they would sell like hotcakes. I have the euro pre muffler on my other car and the fit and finish are far better than I have seen anywhere else.

Default IA

I do admit, I was stressing on the install. I have a California emissions turbo and I did not know what to do with the extra emissions hose and tube. Nate (at Imagine Auto) called Steven on his cell to answer my questions. Then, about 45 minutes I was having problems closing the gap on the muffler flange to the turbo bracket. I called IA again and Steven picked up the phone and told me a trick on what order to tighten the bolts and with little room and one click at a turn, I got it done.

Oh, Steve, I did not pull the bumper. I was close, but did not need the extra room.

Now, If you can have Nate check on my B&B intercooler (just kidding, it's not far away).

The whole team at Imagine Auto is very knowlegable and very helpful.

Come to think of it, I forgot to change my oil while I had the car on the lift . . . . .

Fabspeed doesn't sell headers for the 930.
