ProtoCab,
I just got off the phone with Patrick and he said he contacted Bill at Alamo Industries whom quoted him around $1200 for a brand new K27HF which is why he probably asked you for a few hundreds bucks for yours. Anyway just trying to help here.

Bill no longer works for Alamo. Also the that is not the same turbo as the one in question. Those turbos are hand profiled and not the same setup.

I manufacture the Hyflow series of turbochargers, Stephen at Imagine Auto is the only person/company that is authorized to sell/support this line of turbochargers. Purchasing a turbocharger from another source will get you a hyflow by name only.. I have had a customer send me a turbocharger for inspection that said it was a hyflow. It ended up being a stock 7200 with the inducer polished..

There are fakes/clones that do there best to copy my work. Many companies use manual lathes to cut the profile of the compressor wheel. This leads to out of spec profiles and tolerances that are not controlled. CNC machining is the only way that one can maintain a consistant product and ensure the quality and long term reliability of the product.

The variable vane turbine housings have been out for quite sometime. VW uses them in a few of there diesel's.. Mack uses them in alot of there engines. The first Variable vane in production was from Chysler in the '80's.. It is extremely expensive technology.

How expensive to make one for the 930 or 944T? Are we talking $1000 more or $2500 more or...

the gale banks version had a set of vanes and a control device that you just split the intake and exhaust and the variable vane and control section in beteween and put it back together. It didnt look hard to do.
