Question 930S rear fender vents

Any one know where to get a set of Steel rear fender vents? the only ones I have been able to find have been fiber glass. which crack. There still seems to be a good market out there for them.

Ken,
When I was looking for a set I found that Performance Auto carries them. There are several companies that carry them. You might try Google for 930S parts.

Ken,
Get a copy of "Excellence" magazine and look through the classified ads. Look for the Porsche body mod company and give some of them a call. They should be able to help you.

I had a rabbit run into me in the side busting all three. I managed to repair two but the top one was totally destroyed. I work at a place which does composites work and they had the same material that the factory ones are made of. Basically they are a stiff foam product with a laminate to seal them and then smoothed out and fitted to the body with filler. I know this because of the pieces I picked off the side of the road. I heard they were made of wood at some point and this prove to me to be wrong. Anyway I made my own and it turned out so well that nobody can tell they are not factory. by using the same materials I kept the feel and weight the same as the stock ones. It took me about 4 hrs labour to make it not including the drying time to alow the fiberglass resin I used to seal the foam. Porsche wants $420 EACH!!! I contacted my cousin in Germany and he said they are more there. Unreal...

Maybe on the Special Wishes cars(pre-'87) they were wood? That's what mine are.
