Looking for opinions on the best "street" brake pads
I did a search a could not find what I was looking for. I am looking for the best street pad that will provide good bite, not need a lot of warm up, and also provide low dust emission. I had Axxis Ultimates on my M3, and liked them. Any ideas?

I've been using MetalMasters with pretty good results. Very low dust, low rotor wear characteristics, very good grip. The only thing I do not care about is in the wet. They take a bit of time to feel the clamping force. Easy to get use to, but a bit alarming when you apply brake for the first time and there's that split second delay before things start happening. BTW, nothing else was changed.....splash guards, etc. during the changeover, so I know it was the MetalMasters composition that affected this behavior.

BIG RED 993 TT Pads
Hi Sammer:
I have the Lindsey Racing BIG RED front Brakes on my 944 Turbo and here is what I have found so far:
PAGID BLUE's don't squeel, they howl! Very noisy! They are supposed to be a combination street-track pad. They stop well but are loud. They dust pretty heavily as well.
I am now using HAWK HPS compound pads, also a street-track pad, which are better but will squeel some when hot (but they are better than the PAGID's. They also dust a lot.
Both the PAGID BLUE and the HAWK HPS have good stopping power for track use but are not the ideal street pad since they need to warm up a bit before they really bite which can be a little scary on a cold rainy morning the first time you need to use them... beware!
So you have had good luck with the stock 993TT pads eh? Do they dust very badly?

Thanks Sameer
I'll give them a try for street use. What kind of life do you get with them (although I bet your still on your original set, your car doesn't look to have too many miles on it!)
Thanks!

Hi:
For a really good street pad that has great grip, VERY low dust and works great from cold, its hard to beat the Mintex ones. These are MUCH better than the infernal Metalmasters,...
OEM 993 pads are excellent as well for those cars.
Pagid makes a street/track pad called Sport Black (or Blue) but they can be a bit squeaky. These are best suited for very aggressive road use to light track applications.
I don't use Hawks due to excessive rotor wear, corrosive dust, and poor cold performance; there are simply better choices.

Steve,
Thanks for the analysis. So the 993 OEM pads fit the older 930 turbo calipers? Interesting. It sounds like the Mintex pads are the best fit for my driving style. Where is the best place to buy he Mintex pads and do they have the provision for the factory sensors?

I have a set of Ferodo street / track pads, and they work great. They dont squeal, and do not create a lot of dust. The downside is they are bad when cold. You need to stomp on the pedal once or twice before they begin to work, but grab like a **** when warm.

Anyone heard of/tried beveling the pads to reduce the squealing? My Big Red stock Porsche street pads squeal like a couple of horny pigs. My P-car mechanic friend suggested beveling.

Steve is right
Steve of Ren Sport is absolutely on the money! The Pagid Blue pads squeel a lot! The Hawks are not very good from cold and dust a lot but are less noisy than the Pagid Blue's. I was not aware of the Rotor wear issue since I have only used them for a short while.
I think I'll switch to the Mintex pads Steve recommended. Steve, is there a specific compound that I should look for. Also, do you handle them & how much would a set be for my 993 TT BIG RED's be (these are for my Lindsey Racing BIG RED kit for my 944 Turbo)? Please advise.
Thanks!
