Looking for opinions on the best "street" brake pads

The reason people do not use the Ferodo pads is that they started off as a motorcycle pad. They are the top pad used on the bike racing circuit. I have not used any of the other pads since my car came with these installed. The original owner old me that he tried them all, and gave Ferodo a shot, and he never looked back. From my own personal observation. They dont squeal, and they do not dust that much. So, ask some others what they think. You might be surprised.

LOL,..My bad,....I only mentioned the 993 pad option for the folks with those cars. 993 rear pads will fit the Turbo brakes but the Mintex ones are a better option, IMHO.
These do have provisions for brake pad sensors.
There are several places that can get them for you including myself.

E-mail me with the pads numbers so I know what you have and I'll shoot you prices. There are two Mintex pads; the street ones and the C-tech ones for light track use.

So Fast,
I to use Ferodos on my standard brake set up. No squeling or excessive brake dust probs. They work just fine but don't last very long though. My last set got me around 8,000 kms. There was about 25% life left but the pads were shot (brittle) due to excessive heating and cooling.

I use the Ferodo DS2500 pads which are designed for street/track use. Work great with only a slight squeal during the last 5-10 ft of slow braking. Not much dust, seem rotor friendly. I will certainly continue using them when these are due to be changed.

Hi Steve
I do not have the BIG RED brake part numbers, I assumed that they were all the same. The HAWK pad numbers are:
HB184F .650
D594
HPS Compound
The box says:
"Ferro-Carbon: A Carbon Fiber/Metallic/Organic compound"
HPS Compound: High performance street pad material that offers:
Extremely low dusting
High Friction hot or cold
Gentle on rotors
Very quiet
Extended pad life
I agree that the pads are virtually quiet except when a little noisy when they get heated up. Relative to the dusting issue I have seen better but maybe there is so much swept surface relative to other brakes that I am used to that it just seems like a lot.
With that said, do you feel that the Mintex pads are a better alternative (these were quite expensive so I'd only want to change if the Mintex were significantly better. Your thoughts... thanks!
