Geoffrey

I might be wrong but that's like a $17-20k bill. Motec-$6-8k, turbos $4k, labor $3-$4k, intercooler $2k, valves ? You still have not changed suspension, wheels and brakes (another $6-8K)..There would be no advantage over a 965 turbo with an EFI kit (going back to the thread topic) or a 993TT. Unless you can do it yourself, it is rather not a good choice IMO. The supercharger route seems much more advantageous.
Another option is to keep compression as is and valves as well and calibrate more conservatively a Motec or go Motronic with turbosystem package ala Protomotive for $7-10k?

Princeton's (Poorbw0y) approach seems great, what do you think?

Yes Geoffrey, exactly what he does.

Jean : this is not my engine. Mine is a NA 3L6.

He doesn't keep the high compression ratio, changes the exhaust (two hybrid turbos very closed to the out ports) two waste gates and a good engine management. This configuration (different rods and maybe more) can offer 720 hp.
I will work with him for my next engine (2.8L TT).

But... my post was just to comfort your point of view : don't go over 3.6L

Jean, nothing is cheap...and simply swapping out a CIS 965 to EFI is not the same as starting with a much better breathing head and intake system of the 964.

I hardly think you can describe a built-up 964 turbo EFI motor inexpensive... It's a great motor but nothing fits. You have to fabricate all kinds of stuff you've not thought of yet. You also need a lot more cooling. And don't m ake the mistake I made. Get a custom set of headers. The off the shelf stuff just won't flow.

There are 2 things you want to be concerned about when purchasing used MoTeC components. First is if they are stolen, there is a database of serial numbers and the stolen ECUs have been identified and MoTeC has been able to recover units, serial numbers are always checked. Second is that if the unit was not purchased in the US then there is effectively no free support or upgrades. Again, serial numbers are checked.

Sameer, this would not apply to you.
