Default remote door lock

I guess I am like most Pcar owners who have auto door locks in that I would like to add a remote control. Does anyone have a model on product name that has worked well for them? I'm a little leary of these radio/audio places that you see advertised everywhere.

Any of the DEI products carried at best buy, circuit city etc will work fine. You might also look in to the higher end stuff like alpine, Clifford etc.

Clifford is dei. any keyless entry system is going to work fine. It is a very easy install. If you go to a good shop you should be able to get a keyless entry system bought and installed for 129.00 - 149.00. Dont go spending money on anything special, most keyless entry are very good as long as they are installed correctly. i would not reccommend circuit city or best buy. Go to a reputable audio shop.

Got a Toad install system in mine, I just couldn't get used to using the key after all the modern cars I have driven over the years.

speaking of keyless entry. I would like this too.

along the same lines, can you get a combo keyless entry/alarm? my car has the factory alarm with that keyhole in the side of the door jam, but I dont know exactly how to use it and it seems quite cumbersome. i thought you had to open the door a little unlock the keyhole, then open the door the rst of the way. or if you just forget you put the alarm on and open the door all the way all hell breaks look and it goes off. whats considered "opening the door a little."

Id be willing to spend $250 on a decent keyless entry/aftermarket alarm. Anyone with further opinions? Stick with Alpine or Clifford??
