Default Intercoolers

Anyone know the width and thickness of the kokeln, andial, or garretson intercoolers, that allow the retention of the A/C?

Yeah... I was wondering that myself. I would love to get a newer/better intercooler, but after taking a close look at what's going on in there, I'm not sure that I could keep the A/C condenser or not... there doesn't seem to be much space to do too much.

Let me know if you find any of those measurements, would you?

The Kokeln and the standard fit 500ci units we sell both allow the AC to remain in place.

Jeff,
I replaced my IC with a thick B&B and had to take the plastic surround out of the lid. It was not much of a job since you only have to loosen most of the screws.

In case anyone is curious in the future someone measured the core on a kokeln unit for me: the results for the core only are. 16 1/4 x 8 7/8 x 4 1/2.

Default Prototech Intercooler

Hi all:

I have an Intercooler (aftercooler) made by Proto Tech that is huge and my AC still fits (see photo). Of course I have to remove it to do any work on the motor but that's no big deal. This cooler is rated to have about a 98% efficiency according to Bruce Anderson's book. Let me know if I can help.

Default Condenser Location

There is a large condenser coil inderneath the main body of the car (or is that the evaporator? See photo it is located just behind the fuel tank). There is also a Condensor (Evaporator? The one with the sight glass) located in the left front wheel well. I always mix those two up.

Hope that this helps!

the Kokeln one is a snap to install, I've done several, no probs with A/C or decklid clearance, excellent quality and the best intercooler on the market IMO
