Default Fikse on 930 - Need Tire Suggestions

I just bought a set of 17x9 and 17x10 Fikse FM10s for my 930. I am going to be using them to mount track tires and wanted to know if anyone has them and what size tires they prefer. Obviously I am looking to avoid any rubbing issues.

Thanks!

man... I want a pair of those rims bad. I can get a set of Racing Dynamic wheels with an extra front for your car if you want to trade? I was offered them when I bought my 87' 930 but turned them down. Interested? I can send you a pic of them on my car if you'd like to see them.

Rob,
I have 8.5/10.5 and am running with 225/45 and 275/40 without any issue. I should be able to fit a 245 in front without any rubbing. If the offset is correct, you should also be good with 245 front and 275 rear. But it depends on how wide you want/need in the front.

cheers...

Rob,
Did you just buy these off of ebay last night? If so, I was looking at these and decidend not to bid any higher. Anyway, the seller contacted me today trying to sell them outside of ebay. If this is the case, watch this guy - seems a little shady.

Those are the wheels.

When did he contact you?! What did he say about the fact that the auction closed?

Thanks for the heads up?

The internet is truly a great thing. He sent me an e-mail a couple hours ago asking if I were still interested in purchasing the wheels. Basically, if you buy something "outside" of ebay, you can't be covered by paypal. So, the guy is either trying to rip me off or get me to outbid you after the auction. Some people are truly amazing.

Anyway, I would be extremely careful dealing with him and insist that he send the wheels before you mail a check. Or at least mail a post dated check that you can cancel. He may be trying to rip you off too.

Derick -

Would you please forward a copy of the email to me? I have been discussing it with the seller and it looks as though there may be another party involved. Please send to rmontgomery@e-bbk.com

I would really appreciate it. I can fill you in via email but don't want to make a huge public to do about this as of yet.

Regards,

i run 235/40 and 295/30 in the rear thats for 18" rims so your probably gonna have to go one size taller but I thought Id let you know what I clear on my car.

thats on 18x8 front and 18x10 rear

I have lowered the car a little and I do barely rub the front tires at full lock with a full tank of gas

Derick -

Thanks again. It definitely looks as though there was a third party trying to scam you. Steve and I have worked it out and I am feeling confident in the transaction. Should be shipped today or tomorrow.

Regarding my original question it looks like the rears should probably be 275/40/17 and the fronts could run either 255/40/17 or 245/45/17.

Likely going to get the Yoko A032R Hard Compounds.

930LDR: So what ever happened about these Fikse's? Do you get them yet or are they on their way? The reason I ask is that I was the one who put the first bid on the wheels. I never bid again after this since my car may be sold. The weird thing is that I got an e-mail ealier today through E-Bay stating the the seller wanted to know if I still wanted to purchase the wheels at my bidding price. I have attached the body of the e-mail below. I find this kind of weird considering you won the auction and you mentioned the wheels were getting shipped. I just wanted to give you a heads up.

Here is what was in the e-mail sent to me.

***Do not reply to this email . Contact the seller at this e-mail address : thepeacedreamer@aol.com*** You expressed interest in an item titled "Porsche Fikse 17 inch Lightweight Wheels FM-10 Race Item number: 7946287531" by bidding, however the auction has ended with another member as the high bidder. In compliance with eBay policy, the seller of that item is making this Second Chance Offer to you at your bid price of US $1,500.00. The seller has issued this Second Chance Offer because either the winning bidder was unable to complete the transaction. If you accept this offer, you will be able to exchange Feedback with the seller and will be eligible for eBay services associated with a transaction, such as fraud protection. To purchase this item, don't reply to this mail, just contact the seller at thepeacedreamer@aol.com. ***Do not reply to this email.Contact the seller at this e-mail address:thepeacedreamer@aol.com******

inborroel -

That isn't the seller's email address. It isn't the email address that Derick received his message from either. I have been working with the seller all weekend and we closed the deal last night. I should have a tracking number tomorrow. What email address did your message come from?

Thanks

930LDR: There was no "real" e-mail address showing since it came from E-Bay. It came from "aw-confirm@ebay.com". I am assuming the item number in the e-mail body I copied is the same as the one you won. I would just be weary of this. If things work out and you get your wheels then congratulations on the new wheels. I just noticed that at the bottom of the message it came from 'auburnqtpi'. Is this the sasme seller as your wheels?

Update: I just checked the item number and this is the one I had bidded on. This item number went to the 17" Fikse wheels that were being sold from North Vancouver, British Columbia. The winning bidder was 'montbmw'. Is this you? The seller listed on the auction is 'stevep91122'. His auction has four pictures of the wheels and two of the red 930 with the Fikse's.

930DLR,

I'm using Ruf speedline rims.

17x9-235/40
17x10-285/40

No issues at all.
