Looking at a 930S w/ 150K miles. No rebulid of engine. Turbo was rebuilt at 90Kmiles. Car has NOT been driven for 7 yrs.
With this history, is a rebuild eminent? I know it's a vague question, and every car is different, but generally, how long can these engines run w/o rebuild? How much for rebuild?
How about the turbo? and other parts that have been idle for 7 yrs. What should i look out for? and how much $$ anticipated?
Any insight appreciated.

Your looking at (potentially) an expensive engine rebuild to bring her to the condition that you will probably want her to be in. How much is the car to begin with? We just restored a pair of late 70's 930's and spent over twenty on each one doing just this, (because we already owned the cars, it wasnt silly...but if we had to buy the cars for 10 grand each, it would have been).
This is just my experience, there seems to be enough lower mileage, reliable, currently running 930's and 911 T's out there, so unless theres something very interesting about this unit...

Hasn't been driven in 7 years? Even if the car was a daily driver, 150K miles is still an awful lot on an air cooled turbo engine. Walk away unless you can get it for $10k or less.
The entire fuel system will be gummed up, hoses hard, fluids old and full of condensation (rust) seals shrunken and hard, and on and on.
Some people mistakenly think that if a Porsche is started every few weeks to months and allowed to warm up then things will be fine. Unfortunately, the oil temp will never get hot enough without driving the car for a good while, to burn off the condensation and combustion byproducts in the oil, which leads to significant problems. Obvious evidence of this is the milkshake looking goo in the oil tank cap. That's oil and water mixed together.
Everything on the car will need to be rebuilt sooner or later, probably sooner. Any decent 930 engine rebuild will be at least $10K depending upon parts needed, up to $20K or more.
There are plenty of good examples out there for far less than you will end up putting into the deal on the back end to get a reliable, leak free car.
