Default First Turbo

@all,

hy everybody. Last sunday I bought my first 911/930, after several years of transaxle experience with 928 s4 and 944 s2.

It is a black/black 911 turbo model 86', 2 prev. owners, 85K on the clock and a full Porsche service record till 55k, accidentfree, in pristine condition.
I bought it from a US-Heli-Pilot here in Germany who brought the car with him some years ago.
It has still US registration, so I have to pay IRS, border tax, and legalisation for Germany (TÜV).
I inspected the car with a good friend of mine and we both were shocked about the outstanding good condition of the car.
It was so clean you were able to eat from it without fear of getting ill (My deepest respect to the previous owner for such a good maintenance job).
I got a book full with bills from 01'-04' worth about 20K$ of investments done on the car.
The engine is equipped with the finest parts like Kokeln Intercooler, K27-7200 Turbo, Tial wastegate, GHL stainless Headers, Mille Miglia exhaust and with a dyno sheet stated performance of 370 RWHP.
The whole suspension is reworked with all uniball goodies and bars you can imagine, bilstein sport shocks all around, fat torsion bars and corner balanced by experts.
The wheelset consists of chromed Fuchs rims without any damages (really unbelieveable).

My first impressions:
< 3500 rpm: goes like an original 928 (grin)
> 3500 rpm: big hit in the neck - holy sh... this is real scary
beast and only compareable with some japanese suberbike I
owned years ago. Rocket accelaration with an unbelievable
sound - I was addicted from the first second on.

I also got a big spare pack with the car (turbo, intercooler, Rollbar, front swaybar, wastegate, shocks, aso.,aso.), it was so much stuff, that my BMW 5 series e39 was fully filled up.

The car is really perfect except some little things.
Back tires are worn out and it drips a little oil due to the age.

The next step will be to bring it on the road here in Germany which will be a job that is going to take some time.

Below I try to post some pics, hope you'll like them.

Greetings from Lower Bavaria/Germany

Thanks guys,

as I said I was addicted right now!

@Sameer,

the C2 Kit looks like the Strosek-Kit for the turbo (vent holes in the back fender covers and the different design of the front fender). Pretty nice.
Check out this site: www.albertweb.de (the company that produces the kit for Strosek)

Regards
Stefan

Car looks magnificant. Go to tweeks.com and order a billet ignition plate for $35. They just screw on. A car that good needs to get rid of the original faded one!

Oh how I yearn for a Kokeln, hi flow turbo, and some GHL headers. Ahem.

There's a switch - a German buying an imported US car. So what do you have to do to get it registered in Germany?

BTW: Looking at the pictures, it is easy to understand why you would want that particular car.

@PorscheDavid, iborroel, UDpride,

thanks a lot for the nice comments.

@JBH,

it was really a random buy. I hadn't thought that this car is that pristine in real.
It is not so unusual that guys over here are buying Porsches in the states. If you are looking for a completely rustfree one you you have to search real long overhere (not only the chassis, but also the rest like suspension, exhaust, brakes - mine is perfect in this way, thanks to the californian weather).
To legalize it for german street usage is a different story, but possible with some effort moneywise.
I am lucky because stuff like german head/rearlights came with the car, so some money is saved. I might get problems because of the extensive engine moods, but if I find a nice TÜV-guy who is also a Porsche-enthusiast it might will happen, without any bigger efforts.

Now I have to stop, because I have to go down to the garage and polish my new baby. If you are not allowed to drive it yet, you have to find other things to be involved.

Btw: I was on the Autobahn last night (certainly the german red number for test drives on), we have a nice little peace of it situated nearby and flat for 30 kilometres which is normally the daily testride for the BMW testriders.
This beast already hits the 290 Kph mark (about 178 mph) without hesitation!
Really awesome!

Congrats to you as well sir!

Driver her in good health and safety, go embarrass some vettes and mustangs (safely and below the speed limit of course, I would never advocate street racing...just a little humility adjustment....)
