Default New to the forum- 1988 930S Factory Slantnose

Hey guys,

After a 7 year vacation away from Porsche's, I have recently purchased a 1988 930s TURBO factory Slantnose. This is a great car and I am excited to learn more about it and the potential for upgrades.

During the PPI it was pointed out that the flywheel seal and cam seal o-rings may need replacing ($3000), but I am willing to deal with that if needed.

I will try to attach a picture as this is my first post.

Absolutely stunning. If you've got a larger photo of your baby, Id like to use it as my desktop.

Do a search for mods, as there are as many as you want, from mild to wild

Welcome back to the fold Blaine! I'm partial to Guards Red Cabs myself

Thanks for the replies.

Is it reasonable to ask $3000 to pull the motor to fix a flywheel seal and the o-ring seals? I was advised that if I do this to fix the oil leaks I should think about new cams to perk things up (another $1000 installed) while the motor is out.

Anything else I should do at this time?

Blaine

Also, is the GHL full exhaust better than the others on the market?

Is the K27 turbo a natural when upgrading the turbo?

Thanks again,

Blaine

I would stick with GHL,B&B or Fabspeed for exhaust/headers, they are a good upgrade over stock.

Yes the K27 is an upgrade over the K26(3LDZ),stock turbo. However there are a few types of K27, the 7200,7006 and HF(High Flow). Hell of a difference over stock.
