Default Turbo blanket

I wanted to show you guys how this turned out this weekend. Now a good friend of mine from Redline Motorsports where I do my dyno testing turned me on to a turbo blanket when I asked him about getting one. It looked good and is good quality but was a pain to install it. There was just too much heat radiating into the engine compartment near the up pipe to the IC and the ign. For other people this could save the paint on there bumpers. It cost $150 and while I had my muffler off I decided to go for it. Let me know if your interested in getting one.

Not sure but the blanket is on my 7200 turbo which is now a hi-flow. No one seems to know the AR size of the turbine? My guess as long as the turbo isn't rated for >600hp it will probably fit but that is just a guess at best.

Question---If you keep the heat in the turbo is that good for the longevity of the unit?

Not sure what you mean by "tin"? I guess you can ship to anywhere these days.

You can buy these through Redline Motorsports at 970-221-4805, ask for Scot and tell him Brent sent you.

Red,

Turbos love heat and other people wrap there turbos so I doubt it will cause any issues.

What happens if the water gets trapped in there? Will it cause any problems whatsoever?

Even if water got in there I'm not sure how long water could survive in 1500+ deg. temps. Of course this is assuming you don't drive it after it starts to rain and then park it in the garage and don't drive it again for a while. I'm personally not worried about, the turbine housing is very robust, it would take alot to f'it up. But that's just me.

When your turbo is hot enough to be glowing orange I do not think any water could continue to be a liquid anywhere close to it!

Ok guys now I'm using the K29 turbo which is pretty big and very close to the muffler. Is'nt there going to be an obstruction? Have any of you'll wrapped a K29??

It is a tight fit up top between the turbine and the engine sheet metal. As you can see, it will fit. The 180 deg. bend mufflers going out to the drivers side comes closer to the compressor housing than the turbine housing, it should fit. I don't think the turbine housing is much different in size compared to the K27 turbos but you might want to research it a little more before getting one.
