Default 915 conversion to 930 trans question

Hello,
This is my first post on Rennlist.
I have a freshly built 3.4l 930 turbo motor that went into a 1980 SC with stock 915 trans. Knowing that the 915 won't handle the torque I purchased a rare 1977 Shortbell 930 trans. The question is: Can I use the 915 shifter with out modification since the reverse is in the transmission? I have the 930 shifter box and can swap out if needed. But was told that the shifter would work????
Any feedback on that..

Thanks

If memory serves the primary issue isn't the shifter, but the rod that connects the gearbox and the shifter. They are different lengths and I believe you need the 930 shift rod. 930.424.241.00 versus the 911.424.020.00 that is currently in the car. I believe you might also need the 930 shift console, but am not sure on that part. If you have the 930 console use it just to be sure.
