Have you had a chance to drive the car? If the turbo can hold 1 bar at peak power (5200 rpm or so) then my guess it is a larger than stock turbo. My car is a bit more modified than the one you are looking at, but not far off, and it maxes out my K-27 7200 turbo such that the max boost it can produce at 5200 RPM is about .9 bar (peak power of about 405 at the wheels). If he is running a larger turbo (like a K-29) to get higher boost and peak power then you will have more lag down low. I also would be concerend about running at 1 bar without a twin plug ignition setup.

Really though if it checks out 38K sounds like a steal to me. Nice wheels by the way.

Should I be concerned with running 1 bar of boost without a twin plug ignition setup if this is just my daily driver. Of course I will get on the gas every once in a while if the chance presents itself. It won't be at any DE's since I have my 951 for that.

Ignacio,
boost at 1.0 bar will happen when you are on it, full trhotle, at normal driving conditions, the boost will reach .5 to .8 max,

I was in a similar position last year. I was trying to get the newest for my budget. Either 993 C2 or 930. Boost is just to addicting and ended up with a 930. The only other Porsche Turbo I really like is the 993TT but too much $$$. It's definitely an older car but still a Porsche (with a Turbo).

A cool thing about 930s is the respect they have from all other Porsche owners. With good reason all Porsche owners love their own make and model, but you always have a considerable contingent that say things like "well thats not what a real Porsche is supposed to be." Youve got people who think 944s are crap entry-level Porsches with the engine in the wrong end. You've got people saying water-cooled 996s are blasphemous and pure sin. With nearly every model theres a group that thinks its not quite the Porsche that Porsche is all about. Except for 930s. You never, and I mean never, here someone say "Gee, those 930s just lack the soul and driving feel of what a Porsche car should be." No doubt every iteration of the 911 after the 930 was just plain and simple a better car. Theres just no two ways about it. The 930 has this respect among all Porsche owners though in spite of all of this. Sort of the first Kemehameha. There may be bigger and badder Porsches, but the 930 is so extraordinarily different its almost like a calling card among those who insist that being rough around the edges can be a good thing.

Very good point by UDPride - you also get the not too infrequent experience of coming out to your car and having people standing there staring and/or talking about it. It happened to me today as a matter of fact.
