Smile Oh boy Oh boy! Look at what I just bought!

This has been my favorite car since high school and it's finally mine! First Porsche. First Turbo!

See my signature line for the details but it has only 66,000 miles on it. The only thing is I won't have it for another 10 days as it's getting shipped from CO to CA. Even though I only drove it for 80 miles, I'm already experiencing seperation anxiety and...I think I have a Turbo addiction.

Congrats! I have the same color combo and mine had 66K also when I bought it. I can understand your anxiety...mine has been on blocks with the engine out for 3wks as I await clutch parts and do some engine detail work. It is normally my daily driver so I'm having serious withdrawl. It will be worth it as it has given me an excuse to do some mods Be careful with that 1bar boost and our lame 91 octane, especially when our weather gets warmer. Do you have a upgraded intercooler? You think your addicted?..........Just wait, it's a slippery slope rgds

Welcome aboard. Thats a beautiful turbo cabriolet. Very rare, well here in Singapore at least there is only one 930 cabriolet. If you want to be running at 1 bar, make sure you do an intercooler upgrade, run at 3% CO and better gas and your all set to go. Congrats. You'll learn to love your car more the more you learn about it. Thats the way it has been with me at least.

Wow!!!!!! That is gorgeous.....congratulations on entering the realm of Porsche! Love that second photo! And yes, BOOST is seriously addicting!

I found a t-shirt on Ebay that I just had to have. Says "Got boost? It does an engine good."

Oh Ya!!!

Convential wizdom is to not run a true 1 bar w/o an intercooler up grade like Sammer says.

Saw a nice 89 with a burned piston that was trying this. It might work in a cooler temp area like Co. - but be carfull!!

Wow!

Thanks for the tip about the intercooler. I'll have to look into that as soon as it arrives. The car should be here by friday - I can hardly wait!

That thing is downright yummy. Congrats. You will treat it like a child. Great color combo -- i think that interior actually looks like champaigne.

If you're going to keep that 1 bar spring, be sure to locate the Union 76 on Almaden that has the 100 octane.

Well I got my car. DAS auto shippers did an excellent job - not a scratch. I would definately recommend them.

Upon receipt I took it to a Porsche only mechanic recommended by Steve Weiner of Rennsport (it needed a tune-up). I must say that I have never been so impressed with an auto shop. They are doing a wonderful job. Thanks Steve!

The mechanic says that the car is in great condition and he thinks it really cool looking.

Updates:
1 bar boost - I had the mechanic put the original boost spring back in the car because the upgraded intercoolers run about $1700. But, the leather on the front seats is a bit cracked so I'm going to have them redone first. Then maybe I'll put the boost spring back in with an upgraded intercooler. I've gotta pace myself.

UDPride - You are aboslutely right the interior is champaigne. BTW - I love your 930. Do you enter it in shows? It looks very clean. I was thinking about cleaning mine up and entering it into some shows. This is really addicting.

FSAEracer03: Thanks for the kind words. The way I see it, when you're talking about your dream car money becomes less of a factor. That, along with the fun factor, makes it worth every penny. I paid a litle more than I should have but, alas, no regrets.

Turbo944

I couldn't find the "Got boost" shirt. Can you post a link? Thanks!

I found mine on E-bay, justkickenit. Might try hanging out there and watching to see if it shows up again. Honestly, it's kind of a generic t-shirt, I guess if all of us turbo owners wanted some, it wouldn't be hard to come up with a design and have some printed......
