Hi guys. I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself.
I live in the U.K, have one Son aged 11, am divorced, and as of today have a lot less money in my account.
I have just purchased my first 911. My first Porsche as it happens.
A 1989 3.2 Carrera Targa in Black with full beige Leather.
The car has done 114K miles but is close to mint, well as mint as a daily driver can be. It is not a show car, nor will it be. I intend to drive it daily, giving my 1984 Ur quattro (Also Black) a little break.
Looks like I have alot of reading to do on these forums, just to get upto speed on techie things. I take delivery of 'Penelope' (I am sad enough to give all my cars names), tomorrow and will post some piccies asap.
Good to meet you all.
Mark

Damn. I can't sleep!
This is too much and it isn't even Christmas yet!!
Ten hours to go, then after 30 odd years of dreaming, I will actually have one!!!
What was Jimmy Cagney's most famous line???

Hi Mark,
From another UK newbie. I recently bought a 79 SC targa Sport with 50k on the clock. Best darn car I ever bought....aside from my 928.
Car sounds great. Good luck, lets see the pictures.

Would you believe it! Since getting the car, it has done nothing but rain ever since! My only camara is an SLR, so as soon as the weather dries up a little I will take some shots and scan them into the pc. I have to polish the rims first though. They are nice and un-pitted/kerbed, but are very dull.
Any recommendations as to a good metal polish?

Hi Mark, welcome! As far as your wheels go (if they're anodized Fuchs), as per the factory (and many others), put a coat of Vaseline petroleum jelly on them at let them sit for 24 hours. If you're looking for a good metal polish, try "Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish".
