figure I'll take some of my friends off-road bumper experience and probably make some tubular nerf bars for behind the bumpers. It'll cut down on the weight savings, but dramatically increase the safety compared to just some plastic sheets on the front and rear. I figure it should still be a net savings of maybe 5-15 lbs a side

I don't know if steel tube over fiberglass will be lighter than just going with the stock aluminum bumpers. I'm sticking with factory aluminum.

Honestly I never used to like impact bumper cars. But I've definitely been growing on me. I may just do a fiberglass valance in the front and some speed holes in the rear. I'm very conflicted
