Removing paint from Fuchs?
Hi all,
I'm trying to remove the factory black paint from my mid eighties Fuchs 16" and I'm having serious problems with this. I have tried with celluslose attenuation (?) but it only solved the aftermarket paint that was painted on top of the factorypaint. Does anyone of you know what kind of chemicals I have to use to dissolve this almost rubberlike paint?
Help please...

Heavy duty EasyOff oven cleaner. Yellow can - the nasty stuff. Spray it on and let it sit 45 minutes or so. The paint will wipe off. Just keep it in a warm, well ventilated area and don't get any on you!

Do what I did last month. Take the wheels to a professional paint stripping place. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it wasn't too much. The lack of trouble with clean up was well worth it. I got lucky in that when I got the wheels back, the anodized part was still somewhat anodized.

Thank you guys,
unfortunately (in this case) I live in Sweden where it's strongly restricted to use this kind of chemicals for both amateurs (like me) and professionals. The only thing allowed is waterbased paintremovers and they don't do a thing on my paint. However..., if I travel over the bridge to Denmark (just 20 minutes) I can buy all the chemicals that I want, or in Germany, or in France, or... All countries are of course members of the EU/EG but apperently different restrictions. Damn if I understand this thoughts of a common market.
Conclusion:
Next week I will take the train to Copenhagen, unfortunatly not the Porsche, to get my paintstripper and there might even be some time over for a beer or two!

Why would you do that? But each to his own.

Easy,
A previous owner had done some lousy efforts to remove it and then tried to fix it with thick layers of paint. They will of course be painted black again.
...and yes I'm my own.
