Lower ride height on 1977 G Body- & exhaust sound
Just bought a 77 g body, i want to
1- lower the car, i'm used to newer models like the 996 or 997 and could lower pretty cheap with just installing H&R springs for example..is it that simple on one of these? or do you have to do an entire suspension like bilsteine/coil overs and all that expensive headache??
2- is there a cheap exhaust sound option? on the 997/996 you can just buy the fister sports exhaust for around $300 and it sounds amazing (gundo hack) any company make something simple like this for a 1977 with a 3.0 1983 SC engine?
i did use search and came up with many full exhaust systems

You should check out the suspension bushings and shocks to see if replacement is warranted. I've got Koni's all around and have set my '86 Targa to Euro ride height, which is relatively simple to do with available adjustments. This will make a big difference compared to the current US height setting. No need for lots of aftermarket suspension stuff unless you are building a track car.
This book is a must have for new 911 owners:
Here's a link to the new bearings I installed:

2) Your ride height is easy to adjust without buying anything.
3) My shop is your shop for the next three days!
4) Seriously. I am in Alta Loma.

"cheap" is never a good way to start a discussion about these cars.
I totally agree with post #2 regarding bushings. Fortunately, they are not expensive, but you will need tools, experience, and be willing to work very hard on the car. Doug has tools and experience, so you are mostly there. Be nice, and he may work on your car.

^It's because the rear will probably need to be re-indexed. You will want to replace the rear bushings at that time. To save time, you can buy used spring plates and have the bushings already installed and ready to go before you begin. And most likely the fronts are bad too.

Be sure to ask Amber Gramps where the water fill spout is for the radiator on the '77. And be sure to let him know how much easier and cheaper the newer cars are to modify. He'll love that.
